Decorating Baby Rooms
- When You're Short on Ideas

If you're preparing for your little bundle, but still short on ideas for decorating baby rooms, why not turn to the Internet for inspiration.

One online store I discovered has over 500,000 home decorating items with a huge selection of window blinds, shades, shutters, wallpaper, borders, curtains, draperies, bedding, custom framed art, and area rugs.

The last time I checked you can still save between 25% - 85% off 1000's of brand names like Hunter Douglas, Duette and Levolor.

They also have over 300,000 name-brand wall coverings from the likes of Waverly, Village, Imperial and Seabrook.

If you're lucky enough to live outside of Michigan there is No Sales Tax and they also provide Free Shipping and a 100% Satisfaction and Lowest Price Guarantee.

I just love shopping on the Internet, it saves me money as well as the wear and tear on my legs and my nerves. I suggest you take a look and judge for yourself at the Complete Home Decorating Store.

Decorating baby roomsSo, I know you are getting excited as the time draws near.

An angel comforter and a mobile hang just above the crib.

A toy chest stands in the corner, loaded with baby stuff.

You are sure your house is safe for the little one to arrive and everyone is excited about the new baby.

You are both sure in the knowledge that he or she will change your world forever.

Shopping for baby cloths, toys, and cribs is a blast when it's your little one on the way. Unlike most decorating in the house, decorating baby rooms is an experience not to be missed.

However there are some general rules to keep in mind:

  1. It's best to keep the room colors gender neutral so avoid the classic pink for a girl and blue for a boy. If you want to add a blue-painted ceiling to evoke the sky then that's fine.
  2. Buy furniture that is versatile and can be adapted as the child gets older and it may even last through to the early teens.
  3. If you're on a tight budget avoid baby specialty stores. Instead go to outlets that sell untreated wood furniture and toys.
  4. Make cosmetic changes by adding new drawer knobs and visually stimulating curtains and wallpaper.
  5. Always be safety conscious, check materials and paints to ensure they are free from toxins and therefore child safe.
  6. Check out the room by crawling on all fours. When your baby gets to the crawling stage you need to be aware of how the room will appear to them. Remove any obstacles or hazards that you see at crawler eye level.

I think decorating baby rooms is great fun because it allows you to play about with so many different ideas and give full range to your imagination.

After all when else do you get to pick out all the stuff you like and the occupier of the room couldn't care less. They will just gaze aimlessly around the new room in utter awe and wonderment.

My wife sometimes longs for the days of decorating baby rooms to return, when she would spend hours shopping and looking at brochures and catalogues.

Of course know our kids are older, they no longer let us decide what they're rooms look like. In fact by the time they're teenagers they won't even let you in their room to find out what it looks like !

So my advice is take full advantage of these moments when your kids are still infants and totally oblivious to most things.

When it comes to decorating baby rooms, there's a lot of information and tips on the World-Wide-Web as well as pointers to products to make the most of your budget.

In addition by using the Internet you can find toys, accessories, linens, and baby products from the comfort of your own home.
